Restaurant bewertenLast minute we decided to try PG’S on Valentine’s Day and get a reservation through an open table. when we arrived there, we sat immediately and the nice woman who sat us said they were never informed by open table about the reservation, but it was not important because we immediately set ourselves anyway! vince gave me a rose from a serviette and took our drinks orders. I asked that the guava mango be made alcoholic on the drink list and he returned with 3 different samples for me to test what I liked best! he was so nice and accommodating! we ordered the johnny cake with mango butter (amazing, I could eat this butter all day), the bark and chicken patties (so delicious) and the special of the day, bark meat stew. the bark was so tender and the rice and the vegetables all went together perfectly. we loved the homemade hot soße vince told us his brother makes and very appreciated the time he chatted with us and felt so welcome. vince also turned some sick 90s hip hop if he did not bartending or serve. the whole experience was so great and we can not wait to try again more dishes!
In pgs jamaikan restaurant on 152. in white rock, we saw a 1992 anne garbour review from the province framed and on the wall. apparently pgs has served Jamaica food for a long time, although they were in those days in the interior of vancouver. with less than 20 seats is pgs cozy and has a casual island vibe complete with faux strohhalm hutable and reggae tunes. we ordered the cod fritters to start. these were delicious, though perhaps a bit more cheerful than I expected. with an analat with ananas and perhaps a mango and pineapple cahutney artistically served. the salt bait was subtle and the frit nice crispy. we also ordered a bark patty that was something special. I am not sure whether they do this in the house or not, but the baked was flocky and the bark fills beautifully spicy. that was very good. we would like to order saltfish and ackee if it is available and we thought this was a very good version. ackee is a fruit, and I have just read that it can be poisonous when it is eaten immature (no care, as this comes from a dose) but I have always found a little reminded of touch! with salt meadow that is immersed in water to remove the salt,) tumble and paprika in a kind of touch, it is part of the jama I knew the heat was coming, but I really wanted to try. jrk huhn can be very sharp thanks to the famous scotch bonnett pfeffer, but a good ruin is quite complicated about it, often with 5 seasoned, muskat and thymian. safe enough while we do not burn so much of the mouth they might connect them with spicy eating, it made me sweat! it was worth the extra serviettes, as this was a wonderful dish. tenderly chicken with the wonderful ruin was grilled and served with a salsa type sauce. both entrees came with cocosy, cauliflower and a beautiful little baked bungalow. a note: the heat of the backpack season cannot really be shut off! that is it! just put them aside and enjoy them a little very good! no care! there is much on the menu for the fainter of the heart! come and try this long family-run restaurant. white rock has luck to have it.
Amazing authentic food! Terryann made great cocktails! We’ll definitely be back!
Just had my 51rst birthday here with a few friends, we made a reservation as there was a group of 10 of us! All around experience was first class, i had the stewed fish and it was excellent. The food was worth the wait.Staff was great friendly and seemed very appreciative! 100% ill be back. Keep up the great work!!!
Had happy hour here with my partner it was delicious! Service from new server Naomi was amazing she’s super friendly. We had oxtail, jerk chicken pizza, Pattie’s a mixed drink. Patties could be more beefy instead of pasty, a little more sauce for oxtail but besides that everything was delicious. Will definitely come back.
