Restaurant bewertenSo I’m kind of a Chicken Waffle addict. I love chicken and I kinda love waffles but put the two together and drizzle sauce on top and I’M ALL OVER IT. I’m a big fan of sweet and savoury dishes and I find no meal quite as satisfying as this brunch combo. I’ve tried a lot of Chicken Waffles in this city, my favourite was at the (now closed) Little District on Lonsdale. A lot of these dishes were good but very few were great. So I was skeptical when a family friend, who I ran into while having brunch at the restaurant next door to Feast, told me I HAD to try the Chicken Waffles at the place next door.
Dundarave Village, one of my go-to spots on my day off, is a quiet community located in West Vancouver with about a one block stretch of restaurants and retail. The beach and seawall are easily accessible from here and for those who come, they’ll find not just beautiful scenery, but eateries that shouldn’t be missed. It’s here that you’ll find Feast, a restaurant serving delicious refined food in a laid back setting, with the added bonus of a spacious patio.
Some items, like the prawn BLT sandwich and the lemon curd dessert were absolute heaven--Succulent prawns and wonderful homemade bacon on the former and light and fluffy goodness in the latter. But on the other hand I could not have been more disappointed in the crispy pork belly--chewy and dry. However excellent and attentive service made me give Feast an above average rating overall.
Last week, I was invited by Feast Neighbourhood Table in West Vancouver to check out their new prix fixe menu that will be available starting March 29th. Feast is a local neighbourhood restaurant that features fresh ingredients that are sourced locally. The vibe is unpretentious – a place you could go to relax and have a conversation with your server. While we were dining, I noticed a couple times that people would come in and they would know them on a first name basis. The space is warm and inviting, rustic and casual.
The dinner at Feast included a four course meal, each paired with a fantastic Wagner Family of Wine brands wine. Wines that were featured included a Conundrum White 25th Anniversary, never served in BC before, Mer Soleil Silver unoaked Chardonnay, Emmolo Napa Merlot and a special selection Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Harvest, a Caymus Vineyards winemaker, provided an overview of each wine as they were being served with the course.
