Ganda and Wanna are superb as always! Keeps me coming back for more! They are the best of the best in caring and professionalism! I am spreading the word!
The food has really good flavors. Food portions were pretty good for the price. We came with 4 very hungry people, one of which was my brother in law who can eat as much as 2-3 people. We had 3 small appetizers, all so delicious!!! Then shared 3 meals, and were impressed with all of them... no left overs, too good to leave any on the plates. Really, a perfect dinner out! The service was lively. The atmosphere was enjoyable, nice music and everything was clean:
Repeat patron! Since my last review, I have been in for Happy Hour weekdays 6 9 PM, dine in only , lunches, and dinners. At most places, Happy Hour ends at 6 PM, so the timing of this reverse happy hour seems pretty unique to me. Happy Hour deals are $6 for fried rolls, potstickers, chicken wings, or crispy tofu. $1 off draft beer, $2 off wine by the glass, or $5 house red. The lunch special pricing and portions are still very good too. Always a fan of Pad Thai shrimp or Green Curry Tofu as my go tos, and usually the green Thai iced tea. Most recent visit, a party of 4 for lunch, we decided to share family style/a la carte entree items: Shrimp Fresh Rolls, Pad Thai Shrimp, Crab Fried Rice, Tom Yum Shrimp, Pad Eggplant Tofu, and Mango Sticky Rice. We finished the shrimp rolls and soup, but had leftovers of the noodles, rice, and eggplant these were full sized dinner entrees! Everything was fresh, from the taste of tamarind in the Pad Thai to the crab in the fried rice, firm eggplant, fried tofu, and sourness/spice of the soup. The mango was definitely Manila or Ataulfo, and the rice was blue from the butterfly pea flower! Great service, and always a cozy, dim setting. I also saw on one of the table tents that they're participating in the Yolo County Vegan Challenge for April 2024 [hidden link] .
I finally decided that it was time to dine at Manaao given the great recommendations. The presentation was very pleasing. We started with the crispy tofu as it was on the list of happy hour items. I wasn't impressed as the tofu tasted bland and lacked flavor. The dipping sauce was just okay. The crab fried rice was just okay as well. It didn't have that seafood flavoring that I prefer. The ribeye steak was very tender and flavorful, although it was a little too salty for my liking. It was not a big deal as I ate it with more sticky rice. The scallops were delicious. Jumbo seared scallops with a side of spicy seafood sauce. The Manaao trio was really good. The mangos, sticky rice, coconut ice cream, and the condensed milk paired very nicely together. I will dine here again as there are other menu items that I would like to try.
