Restaurant bewertenDuring our first visit to Lyme Regis in many years, we noticed this restaurant as we walked by. Impressed by the menu and the fact that it was BYOB, we decided to give it a try. The place was bustling on a Saturday, mostly with customers picking up takeout orders, but we were content to relax with our own wine while chatting with Kar, who had a great sense of humor. We assured him we would be back, and we definitely will be!
During our week-long stay in Lyme, we decided to order takeout from this restaurant. The food arrived hot and on time, and was absolutely delicious. The portions were generous. We ordered Chicken Dansak and Garlic Chilli Chicken, both of which were delightful. Coming from Birmingham, where we have access to excellent Indian cuisine, we were impressed with the quality of the food here. Thank you.
The Chicken Korma and the Peshwari Naan were the takeaway highlights. The vegetable briyani and accompanying curry were very good as well. The service on the phone was great and we even got a joke about Boris Johnson thrown in. We would definitely go there again for takeaway.
I didn’t taste India neither did I taste alcohol as this place isn’t licensed to sell it. We were simply told to go to Tesco and bring in our own drinks. Upon arrival we were showed to a filthy table that had clearly just been used ; after refusing to sit there I could tell the restaurant waiter was not happy. His service was poor verging on unprofessional at times. I also used the bathroom where I found it to be unclean The decor, far from Indian, leaves an impression of “I can’t be bothered to paint the walls look” and the Henry hoover left next to our table did not provide us with the restaurant experience we had hoped for. Over all the food was bland Decor very dated and drab Staff rude, Not professional and far from attentive We were the only customers in this restaurant and I cannot at all say I’m surprised. We won’t be back. Apologises but not for me. Does not have own parking facility either. 2 out of 5 stars
On holiday and walked in to the restaurant that was stuck in the 90’s and not in the good way, A member of staff just looked and pointed at a table that was still dirty, after saying no we want to sit somewhere else we walked the other end of the restaurant and took a seat at a table to be then asked if we wanted to move to another table that had a Henry hoover next to it. The waiter barley spoke to us and was made to feel very unwelcome. When the food was brought out it was just placed very firmly on the table, was not even asked who ordered what dish, no one asked if the food was okay which the food was okay. When coming to collect the food he just grabbed with his hands a large piece of chicken and chucked it on another plate which caused splatter, then just started saying “fork, knife, plate” whilst pointing!!! Would not go back or recommend. Also as not advertised you need to bring your own drinks.
