Restaurant bewertenFor the first time after govindas at the west end and for the first time to the west end, since I was or years old. - what? an eating room like me will have a field day here. Anyway, over govindas the decoration was more basic, then I expected, but I did not come for the decoration, I came for the food. I was invited by friends and eating was good. it was vegetarian. it was healthy and tasty and it was in full. great service, good food and delicious banana pudding. they cannot go wrong with for the hardboard inc their lemon and ingwer drink and they can have seconds. thank you, I will be back! sards
Not sure what this is about. the largest part of the food was bland and costly watered away, with taking out the kofta balls that were really good. they get a lot for and the staff are friendly, but after all the positive recommendations here I felt a little disappointed.
If you're looking for some meat of any kind you better skip this place. If you're looking for some cheap, tasty, and guaranteed you won't leave hungry food then this is a good place. Come for the food and not the decor.
Myself and a fellow vego friend were venturing through West End. Of course, there's literally MILLIONS of options for us when it comes to food. After strolling down Boundary street several times we eventually decided to go for a nice quiet lunch at Govinda's. We both ordered the small meal which came with a vegetable curry, rice, vegetable koftas and flat bread. We sat down at a table overlooking some of West End which was quite nice. The curry was tasty, so warming as well. There was a mix of vegetables, potatoes, carrot, capsicum and the sauce wasn't too strong and overpowering. The koftas were GREAT! They were covered in a tomato sauce which was to die for. The rice was good and accompanied the curry well. I actually really enjoyed my meal! Govinda's is a lovely little restaurant, great for a quick meal. There's vegan options including desserts. I think Govinda's a bit underrated, I hope to see more people enjoying their hearty curries soon!
If you like vegetarian food you will love Govinda's - it's very much multi cultural food bringing together vegetarian food from all parts of the world. The environment is simplistic. Flavour is wholesome and authentic.
