Restaurant bewertenThis restaurant is demolished. There is no front door, no seats, no tables, no food and no drinks no where to park. Mind the bulldozers
I recently stayed at the Horseshoe for two nights and had a great experience. The room was cozy, clean, and warm. The staff were friendly and attentive. The breakfast options were fantastic and I also enjoyed a delicious dinner at a very reasonable price. The only downside is that the Horseshoe appears to be more expensive than it actually is. We will definitely be returning whenever we are in the East Sussex area visiting family. Just a note, they do welcome dogs in all areas except the main restaurant, but you can still enjoy the full menu in the comfortable bar area with your furry friend. Great job, Horseshoe!
For dinner, we ordered the daily special starter of brie, only to be informed later that they had run out but forgotten to remove it from the board. My girlfriend enjoyed her steak, but the 'pie of the week' that I ordered seemed like it had been made earlier in the week and reheated on the day. On Sunday night, we decided to dine in again due to most local pubs stopping food service early, but again there was an issue with the menu not being updated to reflect the change in hours. Breakfast, however, was a great experience with decent continental options, cereals, and a recommended full English breakfast. With the inn's great location, it's unfortunate that some aspects of our stay did not meet expectations. It might be beneficial for them to consider reducing the number of smaller rooms and increasing their size to match the quality of the bridal suite to improve overall guest experience.
I went to this restaurant on a Sunday and they only offered four options for a roast, nothing else on the menu. Despite the limited choices, the roast was actually excellent, especially the chicken. The portions were large and generous, and the prices were reasonable. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. The only downside was the poor wine options, which was disappointing. Overall, it's a great place to have a roast, just don't expect any extras on the menu or any good alcoholic beverages.
Food here is of a good quality, and cooked well. Price very reasonable. Tasty and enough. We had fish pie, steak, 2 desserts, 3 glasses of wine and 4 pints of beer £70
