Restaurant bewertenI recently had lunch at this restaurant after driving by it for 6 years and being curious about its quality. The interior was quite outdated, clean but dimly lit and tired. We were recommended the burgers and sandwiches, so we ordered the bacon burger with peameal. Unfortunately, the patty was small and burnt, with an oversized bun. The chicken club we ordered was not grilled chicken as described, but rather small pieces of both white and dark meat in small quantities. The clam chowder was flavorful but very watery. Overall, I would suggest this place more for grabbing a beer and watching a game with some snacks rather than for a nice meal.
This restaurant is a hidden gem. The atmosphere is inviting and cozy. They offer a fantastic bar menu with delicious homemade burgers. The truffle mayo is incredibly tasty.
This restaurant offers typical pub food in a historic building that has been around for many years. One issue I encountered was the unexpected increase in drink prices at 7pm, with no prior notice or advertisement. When I asked the staff about this, they were unable to provide a reasonable explanation and simply redirected the issue to management. Although the price increase was not significant, it was disappointing to be charged extra without my knowledge. This is not a good way to run a business!
The food is decent but service is slow. The prices are average. The restaurant is very outdated and the staff's performance varies.
We go to the Beacon every couple of months for a burger and a beer. The service is always good. The food takes a little extra time to come out but it's due to the fact it is usually cooked from scratch. Always fresh and enjoyable. Don't order Cajun fries though because they up charge you 1.75 or 2 bucks for a teaspoon of Cajun seasoning they buy a litre of from Superstore for $10....rip off...it's very much a pub atmosphere and you can tell who the owner is by looking for the grumpy guy behind the bar who only smiles and talks to his buddy's. The waitresses make up for his lack of hospitality though.
