Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

Hands down best chicken we have ever had!!!! I used to work at the post office and was going here for lunch just about every day. (I always got their chicken strips and fried okra) I ended up moving back to IL and missed this chicken SO MUCH. My husband loved it just as much as I did-if not more. I have been to several Gus's. I was excited to come to this one but was underwhelmed. I usually stay in Bartlett when I go to Memphis so I usually eat at that location. The Bartlett location is a lot better. But even there is not better than some of the “gas station chicken” at a lot of places. I think it used to be better but has fallen off lately.

Best Friend Chicken this side of the MISSISSIPPI. AND nothing has changed. STILL BEST CHICKEN EVER. STILL: The BEST EVER FRIED CHICKEN and SIDE ITEMS EVER. LOVE THIS PLACE

First time eating at the original location. Most of the chicken was absolutely delicious! So crispy, missed a little of the spice from the other places. Unfortunately some of the pieces we got were a bit off. Like the chicken was on the way of being spoiled.

Everything! I just miss the juke box and the crowded nights and everyone smiling.
