Restaurant bewertenThis pub is visited a few days ago. the owners have been there for about 6 months and have great plans that, when completed, transform the space into a family friendly pub. located in a small village, far enough from the mainstream city, the clientele are a mix of native and people who are looking to get away from the hectic and the pulsating city nucleus pubs. for sport lovers all tastes are taken into account. there is an excellent selection of drinks that you can choose, including a few ales. with a huge beer garden and summer right around the corner I recommend this great little foundation.
Had my baby shower here yesterday. it is a really nice pub in a great location. the personal was amazing and very helpful. they have the room nicely decorated the buffet that they gave up for us was delicious, good and plentiful. the money. a few nice desserts too. (my father said it serves a great pint of theakston’s) many thanks to all who first day for memory at amy xx
We visited the restaurant during late lunch time and had to wait about an hour for our food to arrive after placing our order, which was not ideal. The table next to us, who had ordered just before us, had finished their meal and their table was already cleared by the time our food showed up. However, when the food did arrive, it was delicious and tasted like homemade cooking, so the wait didn't feel as long. The portion sizes were standard, but I felt that the fish in my fish and chips dish was a bit small for the price. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant and the staff were friendly.
I visited Cross Keys today and received a very friendly welcome. I highly recommend the Chicken Mushroom pie, it was homemade and delicious.
I stopped by for lunch at this restaurant. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. I ordered the sausage and mash, which was delicious but I found the three large sausages to be too much. I also ordered the steak and Theakston pie. It was a large, free-form pie that completely enclosed the meat. Personally, I prefer my pastry without herbs sprinkled on top. The meat, although cooked well, was dry and lacked gravy. The small jug of gravy that came with the meal was not enough, and more gravy was needed. Larger jugs of gravy would be a good addition. If the pie had a traditional pastry lid and more gravy to keep it moist, it would be a winner in my book and more cost-effective for the pub. The highlight of the meal was the chips, which were proper, old-fashioned fried chips. They just needed more gravy. I would visit again just for the chips.
