Soljans Estate Winery - Waitakere

Normally I don't use my account for reviews but as a food critic this was one of the worst experiences, no greeting once we entered the premises, and also felt uncomfortable me and my wife set at a table and then we've got told that this table has been reserved. And also we got told that we don't have to reserve a table you can go sit anywhere we paid so much for the meal but the experience was disgusting. As a food critic and a blogger, I would not recommend anyone to go here. Honestly, they don't even deserve 1 star.

Kudos to the chef as foods were all great but plenty of room for improvement on customer service. We did not feel that we were greeted with warmth welcome and when actual turn up is slightly different from booking, reception shown a tight face as we might have upset her table setting. When taking order, the lady ignore other diners' voice and focus only on 1 diner. The rest of us felt like a transparent glass. When we chat and laugh a bit loudly, we saw service personnel gathered and discussed about us even pointing fingers at us which seemed like a rude manners to diners. If not for the vineyard scenery we would not go there and will not go again as there are plenty other great vineyard dining that is as good if not better for me to bring future guests for pleasant visit dine experience. Also, dining tables and chairs appear too casual contrast to the environment, it makes us feel like dining at a canteen not a wine and dine restaurant type of setting. Business needs to learn that without customer, business is nothing.

Fantastic experience all round great food, relaxed atmosphere, friendly helpful staff and play area for kids too so everyone enjoyed the whole experience. Will definitely visit again wonderful! Visited on: Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes
