Town Friar - Waimate

I have visited twice and had blue cod and chips both times. Delicious! Nice and crispy chips and a well cooked batter. As others have said the food comes in open bags which makes it easy to snack on a chip or two during the drive home! Just don’t expect any chit chat from the owner. He expresses himself through excellent food and I’m ok with that.

We had takeaways from here, and would recommend it! My husband had battered blue cod, which was nicely cooked and a good size, with a slice of lemon, being a nice touch. I'm vegetarian and the lady was very well informed and very accommodating. The vegetarian burger was the best I've had. The chips were a little dry, but still tastey and we ate them all!
