The shrimp tasted basic, almost like it had been boiled in hot water. I also ordered a peach cobbler, but it was served cold and hard. After I microwaved it, it ended up watery. I initially thought this was a black-owned business based on the menu, but now I'm hoping that this isn't reflective of their usual food quality.
Wow, I'm a huge fan of crab cakes, and these were incredibly delicious! The mac and cheese was fantastic, and the yams? Absolutely out of this world! It's a shame they aren't closer to me, or else I would definitely be visiting several times a month!
Wow! That's all I can say. I had an incredible experience at this place in Vineland just recently! I absolutely love their BBQ, especially the mac and cheese! Everything was fantastic! I can't wait to come back! Thanks for the great service!
After placing our order over the phone, we waited in the parking lot since we weren’t familiar with the area. We watched other customers come in, place their orders, and receive their food. An hour later, we were still waiting. Twenty minutes after that, as employees were vacuuming and preparing to close, our food finally arrived. As for the food itself, it was what we expected from takeout—not as satisfying as dining in. The chicken and waffles were decent, with the chicken being flavorful but lacking crispiness, and the waffle, predictably, was soggy. The pulled pork was underwhelming. On the other hand, the BBQ chicken with collard greens and potato salad was better, with the potato salad being the highlight of the meal. One positive aspect was the generous portion sizes for the price. However, based on this experience, I doubt I will return the next time I'm in the area.
My husband and I visited for dinner on a Thursday evening. He ordered the Garlic Parm Saucy Shrimp accompanied by mac and cheese, while I went for the BBQ Pulled Pork with mac and cheese and collard greens. Everything was absolutely DELICIOUS! My husband was thrilled with the shrimp, and I must say that the mac and cheese is undeniably some of the best I’ve ever had! The BBQ pulled pork was tasty, but I felt it could have used a little more sauce. The service was wonderful; the staff was friendly and attentive. I gave it four stars primarily because I found the collard greens to be lacking in flavor. I prefer collards cooked with smoked ham hock, but these were made with smoked turkey instead. Overall, I would definitely recommend Taste Buds!
