Restaurant bewertenIn our escape by the empordà alt, we were suggested this restoration to eat. Fortunately, Monday open !!! peculiar entrance with climb to a floor, small and full of charm. very friendly treatment and very successful suggestions. a pleasant memory to celebrate the birthday.

We had a scenic drive out to Orfes from St Pere Pescador it was a fine evening and the Pyrenees were illuminated by the low sun. Arriving at Orfes just before 20.30 we were surprised to see the village residents gathering in the square. At 8.30 prompt the mobile fish merchant arrived and a queue of sorts began to get served. This set the tone for the evening, excellent traditional Catalan food , good wine and service we couldn’t find fault at the price. Duck and rabbit were highly praised and the crema Catalan was voted on of the best. It was noted that the restaurant appeared to accept dogs always useful to know as it is too hot to leave them in the car over a leisurely lunch Highly recommended we will return.
We found this restaurant which was quite near our hotel from reviews in Trip Advisor. It is not visible from the road and as one of your reviews said, you have to go upstairs and ring a bell. It consists of four rooms so guests are spread out and you feel quite private. The menu is long, varied and very original. Onion tart, mushroom flan, and fruits of the forest , we highly recommend as starters, main course we had lamb, steak, all delicious and for desserts there was a tart Tatin and a chocolate cake, both terrific. We went twice and would have gone a third time but they were only open at lunchtimes at the beginning of the week and we preferred to eat in the evenings. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality and originality.
