Restaurant bewertenIf my picky Korean Mother approves you know this is the spot. The food is very fresh and they give you tons of it. My usual order is their kabob kubbideh with rice and sometimes I would order the shamshiry salad which is also refreshing with cucumbers, tomatoes, feta cheese, and their house vinaigrette. I am obsessed over their spicy green jalapeño-grates sauce. And their nan... everything is so yummy. Note: they are busy. Regardless whatever time Of the day, They are always busy. Ive dined in before and I highly recommend getting there ASAP as the crowd does come and its first come first serve. RSVP- doesnt happen.
I have been a long time customer of Shamshiry, and in general I would rate their services as adequate to good. Today however, was a total exception! To start, there was no host at the entrance to assign clients to a table. There was chaos for several minutes and as it seemed, it had been so for sometime before. Then a host showed up and took me to a table in the back of the restaurant and a waiter showed up and asked me if I knew what I wanted so I ordered the Shamshiry chemo kebab and hot tea. Those who have dined at Shamshiry know that upon being seated, you receive a basket of bread and some butter that you can nibble on until your food arrives. Today, I never received the bread basket until about 10 minutes later when I asked for it. My tea arrived promptly, but the hot tea I had requested was lukewarm at best. After another 10 minutes, the waiter appeared behind me and just shoved the plate in front of me without saying a word and turned around to help other tables. The food itself was fine, but not the service was by far the most mediocre service I've ever received at this restaurant.
My favorite place in the DMV currently to get kabobs. Parking can be a bit weird but if you just go past the restaurant, there's ample parking in the garage. I have always used this and never had any issues. Inside, it's a bit chaotic. There are many tables close by and it has a formal look but it's very casual. I don't think there is a dress code though. Lots of servers running around, big crowds of people eating, and sometimes a big wait too. Fortunately I came around the time where it wasn't too packed and I was immediately seated for this visit. Upon seating I was asked for my drink order and what I wanted to get. As per usual, the Chicken Soltani is probably my go to dish here and I can do no wrong. After I got my drink, bread was served. There's this green sauce that had a slight kick to it and I was just here slabbing so much of it on to my bread. I absolutely loved it. The butter is well just salted butter you'd get from ordering to go but it's very good too paired with the bread. The Chicken Soltani is basically Chicken Kabobs Kubideh over a big pile of rice with vegetables. The food is fresh for sure as the kabobs have a smokey taste with every bite. That when paired with the rice, it's very soft and cooked to perfection. The grilled tomato is also good but I didn't find myself enjoying the raw slices of onion though. Portion size wise, this is the best value you can get here if you want consistently good kabobs but definitely check out this place when it's not busy. You'll be waiting for a bit!
I was so amazed at how generous the portion was when they brought this out! Thought it was a shared dish for a whole table but nope, just mine, made just for me lol the koobideh was so delicious and juicy. Just the perfect seasoning, not too salty. The chicken chunks were okay, they were not dry but could've been a little bit more flavorful. I can't get over the fragrant aroma of the rice! It smelled so good and made me instantly hungry. Definitely ask for tzatziki sauce on the side to eat with your bread and meat! Decent service, they forgot a few things here and there because they were busy so it's okay. Very spacious inside.
Best Persian food in this area.customer service is ok. Highly recommended .its always busy on weekends but its so worth the wait.you won't get disappointed.
