Restaurant bewertenI had the Taiwanese Ramen. It was great overall, and somewhat between Japan level and immigrant level in terms of authenticity. Usually in the USA (even in Hawaii) such places don 't have the quality control of true Japanese immigrants to prevent less authenticity due to (con)fusion, but this place does has such QC!UPDATE Sat 20 May 2023 : Today 's food (spicy miso ramen and karage) are absolutely horrible. The cooking has really gone downhill since my review two years ago. I don 't know if it 's the cook or just the owners skimping on quality material, but at this higher price level the food was bland tasting and had a cheap Chinese restaurant style of appearance. They state the food is freshly prepared daily but the meat is quite not fresh and has the smell of being past its freshness. I wonder how old the actual ingredients are...Later that night and following morning, even after the bits I ate, I suffered food poisoning and irritable bowels
Good place for ramen. Broth was a little fatty for my test.
We came by for dinner on Friday night and we're lucky enough to beat the dinner crowd. Right after we got seated we overheard that they were on a 30 minute wait. The restaurant itself is not very large, maybe about 40-50 seats available? The restaurant is located in a strip never to TJ Maxx by Melody Farms. There is plenty of parking despite all of the stores around. Once we were seated, we were brought waters. We decided to start with the Kara Age, it came out pretty quickly and really hot. The chicken was juicy and crispy on the outside. I had the tonkatsu ramen, I added extra veggies to my bowl. The flavors of the stock was great, I was a little disappointed that my bowl was lukewarm, but it was too busy to even think of asking them to heat it up. It was good and it was a pretty hefty portion. I do think the prices are bit high compared to a few other places locally that are rather comparable in food. I would come back to try other based ramen and maybe at a different time of day to avoid the crowds.
First time here and had the pork katsu curry. It was delicious!! 10/10 would recommend this place.
Tucked right in the heart of Vernon Hills. Cozy, okay service. Had the Taiwanese Ramen. Scallions, sprouts, and spicy pork. Now, I usually opt for more heat and a lot more flavor, but they only have one spicy option. It wasn't, but I was hungry so it was somewhat satisfying bland though.
