Le Collectionneur Gourmand

We were recommended Le Collectionneur Gourmand by the owner of the Chateau we were staying at. They don't normally open on Sunday, but will if there is a large enough group. There was of us plus a child and they were very welcoming and...attentive. The food was some of the best we ate all weekend. My cousin has the Escargots for starters and reckons these are the best he's ever had! I opted for the fois gras which was amazing. I know the French aren't renowned for their vegetarian dishes, but another cousin had the Grande Végétarienne which was the most amazing and beautifully presented vegetarian dish I have seen and she said it tasted as amazing as it looked! I opted for the pork ribs as a main course which just melted in the mouth, everyone else pretty much opted for steak, which was cooked to perfection! Given the, service, quality of the food and the presentation, the restaurant is extremely good value for money and I would highly recommend to anyone!

The best escargots I have ever had. The appetizer comes wrapped in a very fine pastry, and the sauce is deliscious. Not just your standard garlic butter sauce.

Recommended by our host and we had a superb meal. One of our party is. Vegetarian and the main course platter presented to her brought an enormous smile to her face. Everything ordered was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. Excellent French cooking without fuss....The chef patron was absolutely charming and made us feel very welcome.

De retour dans la région , nous nous sommes arrêtés dans ce restaurant superbement bien situé, bon accueil et le repas était bien préparé, à refaire lors d'un prochain séjour

Hier mercredi 9 aout 2017 j'avais réservé ce restaurant sans le connaître , par téléphone , un accueil très sympa , donc j'ai retenu pour 6 personnes et en leur indiquant qu'il y aurait une septième personne pour le dessert , il n'y a eu aucun problème . Tout le monde était satisfait , Repas excellent , donc n'hésitez pas . Il y a une très belle collection de soldats de plomb et d'Avions suspendu et en photo . J'ai beaucoup aimé . Roger B
