Restaurant bewertenFood 2.0/2.0<br/ Ambiance 0.5/1.0<br/ Service 1.0/1.0<br/ Price 1.0/1.0<br/ Overall 4.5/5.0<br/ <br/ It was one of the first Indian restaurants I have tried in Vancouver when I arrived last year. The goat biryani at the restaurant is that which has allured me everytime since then. It is one of the 'best ' biriyanis that I have tried in Vancouver; though not exactly like what I have been used to in Kolkata. The meat is juicy and succulent, and the rice is well cooked yet separable. They also make it extremely spicy if you ask them to.<br/ <br/ I would gladly recommend anyone for a biriyani at the place.
I haven't been to the actual restaurant, but have sampled some of their dishes via takeout. The dishes that I got were their Grill Mix Combo which contained Lamb Kabab, Chicken Kabab, Beef Boti, and Chicken Tikka), Butter Chicken, and Goat Karahi, all of which came with a side of Naan or rice, although I don't understand why anyone would opt for it over naan).<br/ <br/ Mixed Grill $15.95): 3/5 4/5 for the kababs, 2/5 for the chicken tikka): The kababs were quite tender and juicy with a good amount of spice and heat. Aside from the heat however, I personally did find the meat to be a just a tad underseasoned, and I did encounter a few bits of bone/gristle. Unfortunately, the chicken tikka was quite dry, even for white meat. Moreover, it was coated in a layer of marinade/spice that as not particularly flavourful other than heat), and also very dry. <br/ <br/ Butter Chicken $11.95): 3.5/5; The sauce was aromatic and creamy. The meat, being white meat, was a tad dry but not nearly as bad as the chicken tikka. I did find the sauce to be a bit too much on the sweet side; I would have preferred it to be a bit more savoury/tangy.<br/ <br/ Goat Karahi $14.95): 4/5; This is the first time that I've ever had goat or karahi, so I don't know what it's supposed to taste like. This doesn't change the fact that I quite enjoyed the dish, however. The goat meat was fall off the bone tender, and didn't have any gaminess that I'm always worried about when having lamb. Again, the sauce had a nice amount of heat. I would have liked a bit more seasoning on the meat itself, however.<br/ <br/ Naan: 4/5; I love naan, and theirs did not disappoint, being fresh, soft and chewy. And a pretty generous portion too.<br/ <br/ Overall, while I wasn't exactly blown away by the food, I quite enjoyed all of the dishes with the exception of the chicken tikka). This is a good place for decent curries/kebabs.
Good Indian and Pakistani cuisine. I ordered a Shahi Paneer and liked it. My friends ordered Chicken Biryani and something related to Lamb. Overall quite satisfied with our food.<br/ <br/ Food 3.5/5<br/ Service 3.5/5<br/ Ambiance 3.5/5<br/ Value for money 4/5<br/ <br/ Nothing extraordinary but do visit if you're in the area.
I have visited this place twice. The food here is very good. The goat karahi is out of the world. It's very difficult to cook mutton so well and both the times we went there the meat was so well cooked that it sort of just melts in your mouth ! The butter chicken was yummy and tangy again the chicken is cooked to perfection. <br/ <br/ The seekh kabob was not as good as the entrees. So the second time we skipped the appetizers and went straight to the curries. <br/ <br/ The establishment is small and do expect to wait during busy hours. We went in just before 7 pm on a Sunday and by 715 they were asking customers to wait for upto 25 mins.
Brilliant authentic food. had to wait for a bit, but it was worth it. The lamb chops were very good as well as the curry and garlic naan. Will visit again !
