Restaurant bewertenStrawberry Blueberry Scone (around $4.50): 4/5 The scone had a crispy exterior and a moist, tender interior with a buttery flavor. It was mildly sweet, but lacked enough berries. Blueberry Poptart (around $4.50): 4/5 The poptart had a tender, buttery crust with a slightly salty taste. It was filled with a good amount of jam, although I found it to be a bit bland. Summary: Food: 4/5 Price: 3.5/5 Service: N/A Overall: 3.5/5 Recommendations: Scone, Poptart
This cozy restaurant in the neighborhood serves fantastic food! The grilled cheese was delicious, with perfectly toasted bread and served with thick-cut potato chips on the side. The side salad was also impressive, with cute little pea-pods cut in half. I was very satisfied with my meal, especially considering the reasonable price of 12 dollars. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant whenever I'm in the area.
Great bread, great sandwiches, great soup, great salads. It is a neighborhood gathering place so a very friendly low key atmosphere. Service is very friendly and is happy to accommodate.
This restaurant is a great spot in the neighborhood for a casual lunch. They have a variety of delicious breads for sale, and I particularly enjoyed their homemade Chicken Noodle Soup. The Grilled Cheese was also delicious.
I have patronized this family business for twenty five years. The hamburgers at their previous restaurant the Red Onion were the best in Vancouver. Reminiscent of my favourite Ontario burger at Paul Weber burgers to the persons who are burger aficionado's. I am jealous of residents in the area. The pop tarts are packed with the most nurturing love only a passionate person could bake. (Yes, really, I have experienced this from another baker called Joanne at Tartine's here in Vancouver.) The cheese/dill scones were generously high and delicious. (My daughter says to warm pastries in microwave, put a cup of water beside the turntable--this keeps it flakey.) I bought their harvest sourdough loaf which the family has experimented with for some time. Chewy crisp crust baked to perfection. Even if you make a special trip, it's worth it in every bite. They are talking about tearing down this building so DON'T WAIT TOO LONG.
