Restaurant bewertenAbsolutely amazing! we ordered the chicken soup, Wednesday special (tomato soup with grilled cheese,) and turkey reubs. that brought me right into the nights in my great-grandmother house. superb. the mood also reminds of my grandmother, the perfect wise. even my very picky two years old has swallowed his chicken soup. the mood is very covered what we enjoyed. cookies were also great! we're so happy we stopped.
Really great chicken salad! I saw that they promoted it as the “best chicken salad” so I had high expectations but the flavor was just so fresh and the texture was so varied and unique that I see why it earned the name. I got the soup and chicken salad on salad combo and it was definitely filling. Service: The place is like a old 1900s quaint cafe and has really nice jazz playing almost like in the Fallout games. The place was fairly empty when we went on a Thursday afternoon near closing and we got our orders in 10 minutes. Ambiance: Casual, but older audience! Really cute place that I’ll probably try again!
Best thing about this place is everything is homemade..even the bread. Fresh ingredients. Not a large menu but everything on it is absolutely delicious! I had the chicken salad 2 scoops. Very tasty
Great place. Host was so friendly. Food took a while to come out, but it was worth the wait.
Ok… the guy at the front counter ain’t gonna win any personality contests. Not particularly welcoming, just doing his job, seemed bored with it all. Says, when it’s ready it’ll be on the table behind me. Great! Even the semi fast food places usually at least bring the tray to the table, jeez, it’s like 10 feet. That would all be okay if the food were stellar, if it struck a note of love or inspiration, or even a teeny bit of surprise. I got the Panini Turkey Club with the cup of soup, because who wants bagged potato chips? Looked ok, real sliced turkey, that looked good. But biting into it, I was underwhelmed, nothing particularly inspiring there. Ok, it was juicy, but the panini was thin and untoasted on the inside which meant by the third bite it was mushy all the way to the crust. Not a good mouth feel. The cheese broccoli soup was meh, not savory, not exciting, not memorable… I should have stuck with the potato chips. I’m also not fond of tiny plastic spoons when trying to eat soup. A step up from cafeteria food, a step down from most of the other sandwich places I’ve visited in town. Maybe, just maybe, the guy running it has fallen out of love with what he’s doing and he should hand over the culinary reins to someone else. The place has potential to be special. It’s such a great corner and fun looking building and to be straight, it wasn’t awful, it just wasn’t memorable.
