Restaurant bewertenIt's a refuge. comfortable to reach with the skis, while on foot you have to make a small climb (better in the morning than in the evening it snows). there is a beautiful terrace with view to eat / beautiful outdoors, but also the interior for those who want. the staff is friendly but a little slow. we took toast, burger and hot chocolate (good prices ok (type 5 euro each). I would come back!
Well this restaurant has decent reviews elsewhere, we are needless to say struggling to comprehend these. The attraction for us was the novelty of a skidoo ride up the 300 or so quite steep metres from town on the final piste. This was great, but not sole object of the night. My review is based on the food. I have given it one star because given the circumstances of appalling food delivered they behaved very well and politely. We were, in addition to the skidoo ride attracted by the evening on,y option of Fondue and Raclette. My wife and I chose the fondue and two daughter and partners ordered the Raclette. Well if you are like me, you might expect either hot oil and meats or Cheese for a Fondue. We have had them in many mountain restaurants in 40 years of skiing trips, well this was different. We got what can only be described as a congealed, split, tasteless bechamel sauce. It was accompanied by dried meat, cold peeled boiled potato’s, and cold cooked courgette. All was pretty tasteless. The Raclette was not such but a grill under which you had little shovels on which you placed small chunks of cheese to melt. After 5 minutes none had melted. They also had the same accompaniments. We were a couple of beers, diet cokes and a bottle of red into it by this time. We refused the food, the head waiter offered to change everything, but we did not fancy anything at all after this. We paid up, circa 50 Euros for what we had and left. The positive is that they did the decent thing and still gave a return skidoo back to town. I was however in no mood for a refusal, as it was also my wife’s birthday. My revue is based on our experience. The hotel gets decent revues, so something must be ok? It is the closest mountain restaurant to town, so stop for a drink by all means and observe the food, but we got what I said we got. The worst food ever on a mountain in our experience.
We were two families dining together, unfortunately there was a large rowdy party there which made the place very noisy acoustically. However most disappointing was the food, bland and unimaginative. The meat fondue was not good and took a long time to cook meat under one meagre flame for 4 people. The steak tartare was inedible and the fish lacking in flavour. Not sure if there has been a change in management/chef as we were recommendedmto go here for local food. Definitely do not recommend.
Pork cheek superb, stater lovely and the skidoo trip fun. Recommend going if in Cervinia. Also great for end of day drink as in sunny spot and lovely sun deck
Setting was lovely but although the waitresses were friendly we had to ask more than twice for ice and two drinks orders food was very disappointing risotto was sloppy like porridge and the fish and chips were awful crumbed in polenta and fish was dry and had no flavour the duck pasta was delicious though
