Buddha Thai Bistro - Vacaville

I stopped by this restaurant once before but didn't have enough time to place an order due to work obligations. On my first actual order, I decided to get takeout for three adults and some young children. The food was prepared quickly and packaged nicely. However, I was told the total was $71.31 when I paid with my debit card. A few days later, I noticed that my bank account was charged $84.28 instead. When I checked my receipt, it clearly stated $71.31. It seems that the staff added extra fees—like a tip and surcharges—without my consent. I've never experienced this kind of upcharging before! If they had just asked me, I'd have been more than willing to provide a tip. As it stands, I feel their actions border on fraud. On top of that, the food wasn’t great. The vegetable stir fry I ordered was far too greasy for my taste.

The food here is truly excellent. Some dishes are a bit on the sweeter side, but they're incredibly tasty.

I was absolutely delighted with my experience at this restaurant. The staff were exceptionally friendly and sincere, making me feel welcome right away. The food was outstanding—perhaps even better than I could have hoped for. Having visited Thailand multiple times, I can confidently say that the quality of the ingredients here rivals that of local restaurants in Thailand. The flavors took me back to my memories of Thailand, and I even enrolled in a cooking school during an extended stay in Bangkok. One key takeaway from that experience was the importance of fresh ingredients, and it's clear that Buddha Thai prioritizes this in their cooking. The portions were generous, and I even shared some dishes with the table beside me. The atmosphere is intimate, so there may be a wait for a table, but it's absolutely worth it. Dining here is a sensory journey that makes you feel right at home.

Both establishments offer high-quality, authentic food that is incredibly tasty. While Buddha Thai specializes exclusively in Thai cuisine, Rice Barn incorporates Thai flavors alongside various other Asian influences, providing a nice variety. Both restaurants offer a fantastic selection of dishes, convenient parking, and exceptional service. I highly recommend either one!

I ordered the spicy beef salad, but it wasn't spicy at all. The meat was sliced with the grain, making it tough to chew. Additionally, some of the rarer pieces of beef were brown, indicating that they had been sitting out for a while after being sliced.
