Restaurant bewertenThe Swan is a charming restaurant, although it is a bit off the beaten path. There isn't much to see in the area, as the taxi that took me there drove through narrow roads surrounded by green pastures. It is only 5.5 miles from Stansted airport, but there is no bus service available. If I had a car, I wouldn't mind returning to dine there again.
We were warmly welcomed in a charming pub with delicious meals. This hidden gem also offers convenient parking in the back. We enjoyed a delightful lunch with friends.
We were staying at a local AirB&B called The Roundhouse and our hostess recommended the pub to us. We arrived late and hungry, and The Swan was exactly what we needed; it was warm, friendly, relaxed, and had delicious food. We ordered a platter of starters which included mushrooms in white wine and cheese with dipping breads, bacon and stilton salad, Goats Cheese with homemade chutney, and chips. The food arrived quickly and was very tasty. The service was helpful and friendly, and the prices were extremely reasonable. The pub also had a pool table, comfortable sofas, and real fires to enjoy. It was a great location and I wish we lived closer to it!
Stayed with friends on New Years Eve. The place was extremely busy but all our food was cooked to perfection. They even catered for 1 friend who requested something not on the menu. The staff especially Abbie couldn't be more attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Decided to have a journey out for a Saturday lunch having passed the pub on one of my motorcycle trips. Good simple welcoming local. It too much on the menu- usually a good sign of freshly cooked scoff. We had Ham Egg and Chips- a simple meal but you’d be surprised how many pubs can get it wrong....no complaints here- good ingredients, well cooked. Mrs Felltiger had the Special of Pork Belly with crackling, apple mash and veg. Mrs F is rather critical when it comes to food....this passed with again good ingredients and “perfectly cooked”. Very good value prices and a great pint of Hobgoblin. They even have a piano that you can play if you,re so inclined... We will return
