Good coffee. Food okay. Carrot cake great! Met a friend and was unhussled to leave even though it was very busy. Plenty of parking. Would go again. Dietary restrictions: No problem to leave out capsicum because of food intolerance. My partner and I went last night for our anniversary dinner. We were excited to try Silverspoon as it 's close to home and were hoping to find a nice local spot. Having previously checked the menu online, I pushed aside the numerous spelling mistakes and hoped for the best. We were greeted warmly at the door and promptly showed to our table, water was brought to the table and we were left to peruse the menu. We ordered a bottle of wine it was our anniversary after all , and the waitstaff had to check it was still available not unusual although a little annoying when you 've made the decision. The wine was brought to the table with glasses, and put on the table. Not even the first glass poured by the waitstaff. That 's Waiting 101 right?!? We ordered the tomato bruschetta to share, to be informed it was only 1 piece for $10!! Seriously!?! . My partner ordered the eye fillet $36 and I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken and slaw $25 and as it didn 't come with anything else ordered some fries too $10 . Bruschetta arrived looked tasty. Sadly the 1 piece was not nearly enough to share, and with large piece of cold tomato on top it was disappointing. [The table next to us had ordered the salmon bruschetta, intending to share between 2 also, and made comment about the small portion. Mains arrived eye fillet looked delicious, although slices of eye fillet rather than a eye fillet steak. Was tasty although said the meat could 've been a bit warmer. The Southern Fried Chicken was disappointing three chicken fillet pieces with a coating that tasted like any other southern fried chicken. I felt like it tasted like the ones you get at the supermarket. The slaw had no dressing on at all, so was essentially just vegetables. Thankfully we ordered fries or I would 've still been very hungry. So $35 for chicken, dry slaw and fries sound like a good deal to you? Oh and part way through my main I was given a spoon for my Tiramisu which I never ordered, and why would I be wanting it half way through my main if I had? Initially, we were keen to try the Chocolate Pate for dessert then decided we didn 't want any more disappointments. My partner went up to pay and thankfully he 's a honest man or we could 've had a free bottle of wine as it hadn 't been added to our bill. So, sadly Silverspoon we will not be any kind of regular customer. We hope the dinner service/menu/portion sizes/pricing improves in time...
