Restaurant bewertenThis may be a national chain, but it 's the people working there who make it local. Around the time my daughter was approaching her first birthday, she would regularly wake up during the 5am hour. Since we were up anyway, we 'd throw on some street clothes and head over to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. So for several months, we were regulars... almost weekly. We routinely had Liz as our server and she was (and still is) amazing. When business was slower, as you 'd expect for the early hours, she would pick up our daughter and carry her around the dining room to look at all the decorations, and the fireplace which she was especially fond of. This gave me and my wife a very welcome time to drink our coffee and eat our food while it was still hot. I think most parents appreciate just how nice it is to be able to eat a meal before it gets cold.Fast forward to the pandemic and we stopped going out to restaurants for a while. When we started coming back to this Cracker Barrel in mid-2022, we were elated to find out Liz was still there, and she still remembered our daughter. Just this past Sunday, we went back and while we were checking in at the host station, I heard from behind me: Where is she? Where 's Alice? Liz looked like she was just about to start her shift and probably spotted us walking through the front door. She wasn 't our server this time. But we still got impeccable service! After we ordered, I walked my daughter around the retail store. Liz walks up to me and asks me if anything in particular caught Alice 's eye. I mentioned that there were a couple of snow globes that she wanted a closer look at. As we were getting ready to leave, Liz comes back to us and walks my daughter back into the retail store. This gives you an idea of just how comfortable we are with Liz. A few minutes later, Liz comes up to me at our table and hands me a bag with a snow globe in it. That 's right, she bought my daughter a snow globe. Despite a 4-year-old attention span, my daughter is still talking about how kind it was for Liz to get her that snow globe.
Late lunch yesterday. No other people but us. We ordered meals, 2 of us ordered side salads ,3.89 ea additional cost. We never got any biscuits until I asked before we left. Sat there quite awhile waiting for our salads, they came less than 5 minutes before our food arrived, barely touched salad, waste of money. Manager sat at table behind us, told our server he was leaving, I said we've been waiting for our salads for awhile, she didn't even turn around and quipped, you will get all your food. Menu is a lot smaller, no corn muffins, lots of stuff missing from confusing menu.Manager rude, kitchen wasnt working good, how the hell hard is a side salad to make. The waiter was fine considering he was told to leave, then oh no you can stay. No wonder everything was a mess, head person doesn't know what she was doing. Should of gone to Red Robin. Total waste of 70 bucks! She wasn't around when I asked to speak to someone before we left, hope she sees this and comps our meal, it was a joke
The food is excellent! I have been to Cracker Barrel many times I have always loved the food, every time the service was excellent except this time. Timothy our server said they changed things on him but he didn't figure it out. We literally had to ask another employee every time we needed service from ordering to getting the bill. I highly recommend Cracker Barrel, hopefully it was just a bad day for Timothy.
We ordered fish fry, fish were pretty big, pretty good, but they didn't have corn bread and chocolate pecan pie. I don't like their side dish green bean.
Cracker Barrel is a good place to eat. If you like good homestyle cooking, the only thing I have experienced is sometimes the servers get a little overwhelmed, and it could take a while to get your food out of the kitchen.
