Of America - Truckee

A lot has changed over 30 years. The Bar of America was lively and had a positive vibe. The service was extraordinary. Food was average. Most disappointing was the $39.00 BBQ Chicken. It was dry, like eating sawdust. Surprisingly disappointing. The restaurant had a raw fish appetizer that ate as an entree and it was delicious. Spicy and fresh. Yummy. It ended up being a very expensive evening, atmosphere engaging, the food overall too costly for the value.

Everyone really enjoyed their dinner; good selection of dining options; service was OK on a very busy night. Noise from nearby train was sometimes annoying.

My prior experiences here were outstanding for food and service. This time, our server ruined it from start to finish. He treated us like we were at a diner, rushing every part of the process when I just wanted to enjoy a casual dinner with my family.

We met my son and his girlfriend here for a nice dinner on the patio. Food, drinks and service was wonderful!
