Restaurant bewertenThe chicken parfait was simply exquisite; we found ourselves wanting more toasted ciabatta since the serving was quite generous, complemented by delicious caramelized onion jam and a fresh salad. Our lovely host promptly provided more when we asked. Next, we ordered the hanger steak served with frites and salad, topped with béarnaise sauce, classic steak frites style. This restaurant is truly exceptional and easily rivals establishments in Melbourne's CBD.
We went near christmas time so it was quiet during lunch time. The interior is much nicer than it looks outside. Does not look like a pub, more like elegant. Not much variety of mains, mostly steaks and pub food. We were given free small entree which is very kind, although it was just alright, some kind of cracker with pork and sauce. Their breads are really nice. Staff were attentive and polite. I had beef steak with chips and salad with bernaise sauce. Beef was cooked well, the sauce was more like butter. My only disappointment was the beef was almost cool by the time i got it. Chips were really good. Salad was mainly rockets, onion, coriander and sundried tomatoes which I enjoyed. Overall, it is a bit pricey menu but food did not disappoint and all other things about this place is good.
Been to both Trentham and Merinyong can’t remember how to spell it both lovely and great atmosphere.<br/ Food is absolutely to die for and even though it’s rather pricey it’s worth every cent. I will always go back to either venue and enjoy every bite....the staff are very polite, attentive and go out of their way to assist with your choice of meal. Go you won’t be disappointed <br/ <br/
Came here on a Friday for lunch it didn't disappoint. I had the 36 hour water bath steak with mash mushrooms it was delicious. My partner had the Panko crumbed, garlic filled chicken fillet with greens it too was yum. Very good service, a lovely open fire on a very wintery day...bliss!
Day trip to Trentham Falls and decided to have lunch first, we picked The Plough because we had heard good things....it was nice. Portion sizes were decent leaving just enough room for us to decide to check out the bakery across the road (Redbeards Historic bakey) ... overall worth a visit if you're in town
