Speed's Kitchen - Townsend

Polite friendly staff but the food is downright disgusting.. I am out $100 and threw both our dinners out. Now we’re hungry and out a bunch of money.

Ray and I just had a great meal at Speeds. Portions were large and my oysters were fried perfectly …..soft, just the way I asked. The shrimp were great and the hush puppies are the best around. They even had Butter, not margarine spread! Kallie was our waitress. She was sweet and very attentive. We’ll go back, now that they are like the Speeds of old?

Crab cakes had no taste. The fried whole trout was OK. After complaining, they took on the crab cake charge, very nice of them.

Tried calling several times over the last few months and have never had anyone answer the phone. Had been trying to find out their hours and days of operation as I had gotten different information online. We are new to the area, so we are trying to find places we like and start to get to know the area better. Mom and pop places are usually some of the best, so I have been disappointed that I couldn't get the correct information so we could plan a time to go.

Excellent service. Food was delicious. Speed's is my go to for local seafood dining. Their FRIED SHRIMP dinners are my favorite. Most definitely recommend.
