Restaurant bewertenWe have visited Orly Restaurant and Grill for a family birthday. The waiter was very friendly. To start, we were served a big plate with 4 different salads and warm pita bread. For our main course we ordered lamb shish kebab and chicken breast shish kebab. Each came with a big portion of rice, home fried potatoes and huge bowl of garden salad. All the food arrived within 10 - 15 minutes and was nicely arranged on a warm plate. And the garden salad looked freshly done.We were told that any leftovers can be packaged and taken home.We had a couple of of cups of green tea to conclude the dinner. The menu has many kids favorite dishes too. Will definitely visit the restaurant again!!!
Orly Restaurant & Grill shawarma is one of the best I have tasted in the city. They give you a generous portion for a good price. You will be surprised when you bite into the shawarma for the first time! The taste is really delicious and juicy. One of the staff told me that it is the bosses secret recipe that makes it taste so good. You need to taste it yourself . You would be disappointed if you don't try it.
This place is small, basic, but clean, and serves up great fresh and tasty food. We had the Lamb shish plate (small) mand that was good for 2 people. The owner is an Armenian gentleman, and the sever was a very friendly Russian young man, with interesting hair, and a very friendly demeanor; good person to bring in the business.Food was excellent, topped with the pepper pickles, onions and garlic potatoes (on a bed of rice). A side of Salad also comes with this. We took their Falafel sandwiches for takeout for the plan next morning, and the they packaged everything very nicely so the pita would not get soggy. Excellent service.
I been going here for 10 years. Owner is the same the whole time (nice older man!).Enjoy one of the best Mom, Pap sort of place with home made real unprocessed food!Always enjoy my food here, full of flavor, generous portions and very good prices!
Orly Grill is a shabby gem situated in a well worn strip mall just West of Bathurst and Sheppard. I call it that because it looks it, their AC is non existent, the cooking can be inconsistent and service varies from rude to acceptable. On this visit one of my fellow diners had to repeat on more than three separate occasions that she wanted a falafel plate NOT a a falafel sandwich. All a shame because when they get a dish right it’s the most worthy dining spot on this bustling strip of Sheppard Avenue West. They offer all the traditional Middle Eastern starters like; Baba Ganoush, Fried Eggplant, Hummus. Some unexpected Eastern European ones such as; Chebureki (fried turnovers of Tatar origin), Pelmeni (Literally meaning "ear bread" but in fact these are filled dumplings similar to perogis). And an occasional special of Traditional Russian / Georgian Lamb and Rice Soup called Kharcho to name a few. One of my favourites, their Lamb Shish Kebab pita sandwich ($6.99) generously stuffed with chunks of grilled lamb. Are often overcooked when the owner/cook prepares them. On this visit, for the first time, a woman was tending the grill and her cooking showed a far more deft hand with the featured protein. The meats’ appeal is enhanced with their homemade garlic sauce. Also, our Falafel Plate with Tahini ($7.99) was beautifully turned out yet could have use some traditional garnish of parsley and olive oil. Their Greek Salad ($5.99) was very generous, featured fresh greens and no skimping on the black olives as is often the case with other establishments. The more traditional and better known Bagel Plus near by is not nearly as interesting an alternative. However, you been forewarned about consistency and service. So do try it and hope for the best.
