Moldova Restaurant - Toronto

We were group of six and visited restaurant moldava on Friday long weekends, as advised by our friends. we were very skeptical at first when we saw humble interieur. but eating was great. it was very regrettable, large portions, and the price was also good. I. and my man ordered two halves suppe, a hot appetizer we shared, two second and two beers. we couldn't finish everything we ordered. all together with tips cost us $90. I would also like to mention that the waiter was very polite and helpful. we plan to prefer this restaurant to all others near.

We visited today after the new owners had taken over the property. Eating is much better and more tasty. there are new sorts of Georgian food and it is a welcome supplement. highly recommended. their hachipouri and hinkali are very delusiv.

Amazing selection of authentic recipes and great service. fully recommended, especially if they only visit torto and want to try casual but authentic restaurant.

We visited this restaurant frequently. they have new owners, and our previous visit was already a pretty bad experience. we decided to give him another chance. came with my parents and daughter to dinate. our experience: 1. the order lasted about 30 minutes. to arrive, although the restaurant was empty in the round. water came room temperature. no free refills for coffee! 2. the prices are now higher and the proportions smaller. 3. Eating is much worse than before. of 6 orders we only ordered mamaliga was good. the rest ranged from bottom to just bad. 4. they automatically add 13% service to bill. it is not clearly stated on the bill, so I thought it is tax (which inadvertently also 13 % in ontario) and added top to the 13%. There are some places that add automatic tip, but then disable them in the rule the top option on the machine. I'm pretty sure that these 13% are intended to make people get to top it. 5. the bill is written by hand and manually calculated! cordial gratitude Moldova! they have just lost another long-term customer. because of the number of customers in the restaurant I am not alone. you can fool people only once.

Food not perfect, but good enough. What we find very unpleasant is that prices higher than you can see in online menu and that did not ask you if you want or don't want to pay tips the just included extra 13% into your price...of each dish. They did not hide it if you make some search you will find it in tiny font in very end of the menu. If you do not notice it you will pay tips twice. I find this trick disgusting, so I will never come back to this place.
