4/13/2017 Dinner on April 4, 2017 The main meal of fried rice, and the curry were brought to the table, before the soup. Waitress brought soup and then ventured to the kitchen to get soup bowls. The soup was cold. There were no serving spoons, neither for the rice not the curry. The food was cold. After 10 minutes into our meal, the waitress passed by to inquire if all was ok. We pointed out that the soup was cold, spoons missing, etc. No apology offered. On hearing the exchange with the waitress, The head waiter came by to inquire what happened. We reiterated our frustration. No apology offered. At the time of paying, No apology offered.
I was disappointed with the dining experience; in particular, the service that the waitress provided was quite disappointing. There was some small spills of sauce from our appetizers onto our table. The waitress neglected to clean or wipe the table, even though she came by 2-3 times to collect the plates, and refill our drinks. When I realized that the waitress had no intention of cleaning our table, I cleaned it myself with paper towels that I grabbed from the washroom. Furthermore, the restaurant was only 10-15 full, but nevertheless we were seated at a very small table in a very confined space. As well, we were not offered the opportunity to hang up our heavy coats in their closet, as other guests had. We had to eat with the heavy coats draped over the small chairs. The food was good, but the mussels were undercooked, and in general, food quality was not worth the prices. Would probably not return.
The food at Linda is so good! If you're a Thai food lover in Toronto you must eat here. The presentation of the food and the flavors of each and every entree is amazing!! The service we received was impeccable and the decor was so authentic and impressive.
Entering the place, you would feel the Thai atmosphere, but in a modern sense. The way they decorated the walls was everything Thai. It lives the name of the establishment, "Linda Modern Thai". Our server was very helpful, and attentive to our inquiry of the peanut ingredient of some of the dishes, making sure that our mild peanut allergy would not have a serious effect. The dishes tasted really authentic Thai. The presentation was fantastic. We ordered Chicken Pad Thai and it came covered in egg wrap, just like the way our daughter had it when she was in Bangkok. When we broke the egg wrap to reveal the inside, there was the Pad Thai with big chunks of chicken. Very nice. We also ordered the curry with Crispy Beef which was so good. The mango in the mango salad was sliced so thinly, it was nice to see as well as good to taste. We really enjoyed our lunch here.
