Restaurant bewertenSmall and noisy. Nice waiters but not Cuban! The food is ok. A little bit greasy. Large portions. But why do they close so early? At 9PM !
It’s been a couple of years since I ate here thanx to Covid. I was in the area and grabbed a quick bite and drink. Had the Fish Mendocino and a Mojito. First I want to say that Stevie made the best dam Mojito I’ve had in a very very long time. I’ve had a many Mojito in Cuba and Stevie’s would give any bar in Cuba a run for their money. Great Mojito Stevie! Thanx for hitting the spot!! And now the fish Mendocino, outstanding!! Grilled and seasoned to perfection. Amazing pineapple salsa and red cabbage slaw! What a great combination. I’ve eaten here on and off over the past 10+ and they have never disappointed. Can’t wait to come back! Keep pumping out great drinks and great food!!
A local recommended that we eat here during an overnight stay in Toronto. As a tourist, I would normally not have come to this area as it is not a destination neighbourhood. However, I am glad we explored this area, as this Cuban eatery was really good. I ordered empanadas and black bean soup that were excellent, while the others in my party enjoyed their chicken and fish plates. Our drinks (mojitos, Cuban beer, tequila soda) were also really good, while their patio in the back was comfortable and fun.
Eating fried plantain and black beans was appealing to me and after eyeing other restaurants on Osington we opted for the 50's dinner vibe of this small restaurant. We had to be back at the car soon because our parking meter was running out of time so we had to eat in a hurry but let me tell you my friend that i wish i had spent more time sipping my sparkling guava juice and eating my cuban medianoche sandwich and my girlfriend was telling me this was the best sandwich ever(talking of her ham grilled cheese) Go figure! Left impress of their perfection in simplicity
Delicious food, I ordered the vegetarian plate (vegan) with avocado, beans and rice, salad, arugula salad, mashed plantain all was tasty and flavorful.
