Restaurant bewertenWe stopped by to rehydrate after a long day from Obidos and many kilometers to come, Tomar has it charm, and this place also..very nice staff!
What a find ! Interior looks amazing. We had quick lunch here. Very nice grilled sandwich with ham and cheese. If I would live in tomar this would be my daily place for a morning coffee and a newspaper. Please do not change anything to the interior.
Do you want to find the best coffee shop worldwide? No, it is not in Paris, New York, Rio de Janeiro, or Lisbon. It is called justly Paradise as in Dante 's final pace of Divine Comedy, and it is in Tomar, the geographical center of Portugal and its most mysterious mystical territory. Other than spacious, traditional, beautiful, authentic, the Tomar paradise Paraiso still has genuine coffee shop tables and chairs. The staff is the best in the world, even in the early morning, and when they don 't immediately listen to a call. The owner is as beautiful as Maria Callas (in fact, much more gorgeous, although I ignore if she sings Puccini Madama Butterfly), smokes a lot, and makes a considerable effort to maintain this true cultural heritage of Tomar and the world. Make no mistake: coffee itself, plain or with milk, is the best as well as toasts with a little bit of butter. My kids love Paraiso icecreams that I have ever tasted. Seat in the old chairs, ask for an espresso, read your newspaper (or a book), ignore the web despite the available wifi, and imagine yourself discussing literature in an intellectual circle: this is Paraiso. Don 't miss it!
Amazing cafe, love the family history, very friendly staff and such interesting learning about the history of this cafe. Great to sit outside late at night too.
I’m sitting in right now and it’s second time today. Just can go by without stepping in. Stone tables, columns and stone floor. Very nice place for the drink.
