El Nuevo Progreso 1917 - Tilcara

Incredible food, concentrated on andino culture. The attention to detail is great, from the art on the walls to the unsurpassed but coordinating ancient porcelain on which the food is served. It is quite expensive given the quality of food and presentation.

We were completely blown away from this restaurant and simply did not expect such fine food at such reasonable prices. The chef is extremely talented, all dishes were inventive and has the presentation levels of Michelin Star Houses. My best culinary experience of the previous year and easily the best in this holiday. I also have to mention the front of the house personnel who were professional and welcoming. I would suggest the booking, we went as walk-ins soon after the opening, but it quickly filled up on both occasions.

The food was delicious and the environment was very sweet in the heart of Tilcara. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a restaurant that offers creative dishes with excellent local products.

We came to this restaurant out of a recommendation. Food was good, and tasted very sophisticated. It is a pity that what could have been a wonderful experience was ruined by less than standard quality of service. As we were to try different dishes we shared. We had our entrée and when the second course came, the owner himself didn’t want to change our plates in order to have clean ones. I thought this conduct was ridicule and left without having dessert. The restaurant only accepted cash, no fiscal receipt issued. Neither debit nor credit cards which makes no sense in a touristy area like Tilcara.
