Restaurant bewertenSo far Spencer Village is the closest thing to Singapore Hawker near my area (Cannington) and Ya Kwang definitely makes me feel like home with its Singapore's local cuisine. My wife loves this place too. Her favorite would be the fried kway tiao which tastes not too bad. The size is also quite decent. The owner is quite flexible in allowing you to subtitute the meat/ingredient (ie prawn can be swapped with other if you are allergic). The service is also quite quick compared to some other stall in Spencer Village.
By far the most authentic tasting pan mian similar to those in Singapore and Malaysia. Their slice fish noodle are also very authentic. My favorite dish from this stall is the pan mian. Then for other local hawker foods as well. Their prawn noodles are nice as well. Char Kwai teow is so so for my taste. Do give this stall a try when at Spencer.
Unlike other food places that proclaim they are selling singapore hawker food but yet the taste is nowhere close as compared to Ya Kwan. This stall has food which amazingly tastes 90% similiar to singapore local hawker despite the fact that their laksa and char kuay teow has no cockles in it. The prawn noodle is old school just like the old Tiong Bahru market. The hor fun is so much more authentic than what I can find back home! But dont expect good service from these hawkers. They will not have time to play and giggle with their customers. But if you go during off peak you might be able to strike a conversation with the chef.
The char kuey teow is so good. The service is not good. Overlook it over the quality of the food. No where else has this taste in Perth. The pan mee is alright.
Food was okay. Cashier was rather rude. Seemed to be very angry when I pointed out the table instead of giving the number (there's only on table right in front of Penang Cuisine, it's not that difficult to find) And even if that was a problem, she could have asked with a bit more tact. Better food and service is available elsewhere.
