Restaurant bewertenA beautiful day for a drive and after checking out Cafes near Killarney we decided to travel up to this venue for lunch...our second attempt, as we had visited a few years back only to find it was closed. Sadly even after checking different web sites we discovered that it is in fact closed and unfortunately up for sale. Looks like we are not meant to enjoy the amazing views and excellent food that we had heard were available. Thankfully the view from Carr's Lookout is worth the drive.
It was such a disappointment to find after a long and much anticipated visit here to find it sold and the restaurant closed.
Sadly visited on a very cloudy and rainy day no views. However the food was absolutely delicious with Killarney pork cutlets as specials and the coconut rice pudding with macadamias and mango sorbet, with slices of fresh mango was the best choice. Even the birds were taking shelter under the railings.
We have been coming to this cafe for years and the food is consistently good and the views consistently outstanding
My husband and I spent 2 nights in a one bedroom cottage Rainbow Lorikeet. The cottage was beautiful, clean and new and really comfortable. The view from the rooms was spectacular. We lit the wood heater both nights and enjoyed tasty meals at the restaurant. The barramundi was superb! We were amazed at the variety and abundance of bird life. There were Fairy Wrens, Satin Bowerbirds, Crimson Rosellas, Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Red Browed Finches, Whipbirds, Leuwin’s Honey Eaters, Eastern Yellow Robins, Kookaburras and more and that’s without even leaving the grounds of the cottages. We also enjoyed watching the cows, donkeys and wallabies making their way past our windows. Despite the drought the area here was surprisingly green. This was a truely relaxing getaway that I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get back to nature and enjoy some peace and quiet.
