House Of Spice Tauranga

I was a bit disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The medium spiciness level of the korma butter chicken was very intense compared to other Indian restaurants like Spice Traders, Own Masala, or Smart India. The mango lassi had a strange flavor and was too runny. The only positive was the garlic naan. It would have been nice to receive a more professional greeting instead of a grumpy server in a t-shirt and sports cap. Paying nearly $60 for a meal for two adults and a child that ended up giving us stomach aches was not the ideal way to spend a Saturday.

The butter chicken was delicious and the service from Dharam was exceptional. We had a great conversation and he even went above and beyond by giving us free soft drinks, as it was my friend's last time eating butter chicken in New Zealand.

I had the chicken korma and home-style mutton curry with garlic naan, and it was delicious! I really enjoyed the meal and will definitely be coming back. A special thank you to the chef and the very polite staff.

The food at this restaurant is amazing, and the staff is excellent. We particularly enjoyed the mutton curry and Garlic Naan. Special thanks to Dharam for the wonderful service.

Great place for a celebration! The food is delicious and there is plenty of it. The staff is cheerful and welcoming.
