Restaurant bewertenWe tried the wonton soup and it was delicious. The dishes at this restaurant are consistently impressive.
It is clear that Mamma puts a lot of love into her food! I tried the mixed noodles and the Pho on Pho Fridays. She is a very sweet lady who takes her time to prepare each dish perfectly. The tofu was some of the best I've ever had. Mamma mentioned that the vegan pho is her favorite, even though she is not vegan herself. She is definitely my favorite vendor at the Salzstadtmarkt. I must try the Banh mi soon.
I absolutely adored the train mi at this restaurant. The bread was incredibly fresh, filled with generous portions of tofu, vegan mayo, homemade taro spread, and plenty of vegetables. The sandwich was satisfying and reasonably priced. I also really liked the Taro egg roll, especially the vegan version.
Yesterday, I ordered the coconut curry chicken sandwich for lunch at a restaurant and was very disappointed. The sandwich was incredibly dry and did not taste like coconut curry chicken at all. When I questioned the cashier about it, they confirmed that it was chicken but responded sarcastically and rudely. I will not be returning to this restaurant at Salt City Market in the future.
I visited from Los Angeles and was looking for some local Vietnamese food. Mamma Hai is excellent! I ordered the chicken and corn congee and taro eggrolls. I enjoyed the taro pieces in the eggroll and the congee was perfectly seasoned (I requested a bit of chili on the side for some spice). It was just right. Both dishes reminded me of the ones my mother used to make for us when we were kids, so delicious. I highly recommend Mamma Hai when in Syracuse.
