Restaurant bewertenJimmy’s is easy to find on the ground floor AT THE Summit Centre. You can access from 500 George St, the adjacent entrance on Pitt St, or up the escalators from the Town Hall Station underground mall. The emphasis seems to be on ‘in quick and out quick’ and it’s done politely and efficiently. It’s modern, light, open and clean. There is a good basic selection of Malysian style dishes. They all appear fresh and wholesome and seem pretty healthy. I had the Combination Laksa for $14. I was pleased and very full. Taste was authentic The Laksa soup base was nice and creamy with a good coconut to spice balance. Just add for extra fun if thats your thing. Plenty of appropriate Combo Laksa ingredients, beef/chicken/seafood/sprouts. I would have liked a little more tofu, vegies and noodles but that’s just a personal choice because I understand most people would probably like more meat things in a Combination Laksa. It was a large portion and I certainly wasn’t left wanting by the end. I went on a recommendation (good on you Charlie, you’ve aced it again would happily go back. Ok I have been twice now and tried the Wonton Soup on a chilly evening. Even though we sat in the alley due to seat availability, the hearty soups soon filled and warmed us. Lots of wontons, noodles and other ingredients. Large portion, good taste.
I was craving for a very good chicken rice so I gave this place a go. Jimmy didn't disappoint me. His Hainanese Chicken Rice was impressive and it was as good as the chicken rice I've tasted in Singapore. Chicken was cooked very well, soup was delicious and the chilli sauce completed the taste journey. Jimmy's Nasi Lemak and Chicken Laksa. It wasn't the best Nasi Lemak (Sambal and pickled paste was good) nor the best Laksa in Sydney (like they've advertised) but overall it was satisfying.
I have been eating here for years... and it is amazing! It claims to be Sydney’s best laksa and though I cannot vouch for that, I can say it is up there. It is always packed but the service is always efficient and if you are super nice, get the occasional smile though you go for the cheap outstanding food not the service. Any of the laksa choices are awesome: chicken, beef, veggie or seafood... fight for a table and enjoy....
They are always my fave Malay resto in Sydney noodle soup are yum especially Har Mee very good ingredients with chicken , shrimp, veggie, boiled egg, etc satay chicken is good as well their service is nice as well good price !!!!
I ordered a Har Meet (prawn noodle). For $14, I think it is a good price. But the vermicelli ratio to the egg noodle is like 3:1. Personally I like the egg noodle more. Soup is good, very strong prawn flavour, if there's a few more prawns and fish cake on it, it will be a even better deal! However, I will still return for the Har Mee if I am around.
