Restaurant bewertenWe were delighted to find this place in a Westerfields mall of Pitt Street in Sydney. It was in a food hall on the 5th floor. YOU get to choose everything! Size, topping, cheeses, meat, vegetables. It all goes on a freshly stretched pizza base and is cooked in 2 minutes in a wood fired oven. We chose a large size AU$17, with a tomato base, covered in mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, baby spinach, hot salami and pancetta, roasted capsicum, onion, tomato, mushrooms and jalapeño peppers. All constructed by a delightful young Canadian lady. I’d be back in a shot if I lived in Sydney!
We decided to visit here as they had a $10 pasta deal going on. The food itself was okay but the service was terrible. Left waiting to order for 20mins...food was just plonked in front of us with no offer of any cheese or pepper. The presentation of it was mediocre. Just a mound of spaghetti in the middle of a plate. Then it took staff another 20mins to collect our plates despite walking past a number of times. We asked for the bill straight away as we couldn't deal with waiting any longer. The lady dumped the bill in front of us.. (again we waited to actually pay). Then instead of asking how we'd like to pay just came over shoved the card machine in our face then walked off. Terrible terrible attitude. Oh and $11 for 2 cokes which had a ton load of ice in it is day light robbery!!
Done We went here on our first night in Sydney after reading good reviews on Tripadvisor. The place is not that easy to find as there is only a door leading down off the street to an underground area. There is a sandwich board outside advertising the restaurant though. Once instead the place is quite large and well laid out with an open kitchen so you can see the chefs cooking. The place was reasonably busy for a Saturday night. I'm guessing it might have been busier if it wasn't for the last night of Oktoberfest and the Light the City events nearby. We ordered garlic bread and bruscetta to start. They didn't have any garlic bread but offered us garlic focaccia instead, which we accepted. They also had a problem with the pale ale pumps so I ended up with a glass of wine instead. Lager on tap was the other drink ordered. We ordered two pasta dishes the crab spaghettini and the linguine with added prawns. Good portions and very hot when served. We didn't have dessert. Total bill for two starters, two mains, two lagers, and a large glass of wine AUD125. Would recommend.
I had a long wait to be seated but was then looked after very well. I had the house salad which was more greens than anything else and not as yummy as I'd hoped. However the meal was relatively good value. The stairs down to the restaurant are steep and not for the poorly mobile. I didn' much like the menu
Macquarie street suffers from a lack of restaurant at night and we needed to eat in the area. So back to this place after a two year absence. It hasn't improved. Over priced simple Italian food. Our local pizzeria does better for a third of the price. Aircon was so hot you we're sitting sweating after 30 minutes. Just aweful on so many levels.
