Restaurant bewertenOther recent reviews seem to mirror our last visit....slow service, cold room, fries that had been cooked the day before. Very disappointed. Makes it hard to want to return.
My wife an I stopped here as it was one of the restaurants we really enjoyed, we found out it was under new management which is not a bad thing sometimes however we noticed the following . our server an another we're run off there feet serving customers cleaning tables an bringing dinners to the guests, while a young teenager obviously the managers daughter as the manager kept prompting her to greet guests etc to no avail . it was obvious it was her daughter as she would have been fired by someone else , hair was unkempt as if just out of the shower, never interacted with customers nor helped clean tables or deliver food , nor did the female manager who was wearing flip flops in the restaurant "you could hear her coming" not once did they help the servers , ask us how wa dinner etc , just wandered around an did basically nothing . I felt very sorry for the servers an when asked by mine how dinner was didn't have the heart to tell her the chicken was way overdone and cold and the sauce was stone cold but when your hungry you eat ! i didn't want to burden her with this i was just dumbfounded that this situation could happen at this swiss chalet where we have enjoyed many meals . Very disappointed won't return !!!
We ate here are we were staying at the Homewood Suites over the road. We were seated quickly and received our drinks. However, our meals took ages to be served which is unusual for Swiss as they are normally pretty quick. The chicken was quite tough, again unusual and the fries were powdery. It took quite a while to get the servers attention to get drink refills. The people at the next table actually complained about the chicken being tough, but we didn't, maybe we should have.It was probably the worst Swiss Chalet experience we have had.
I arrived in Sudbury, at Swiss Chalet, Regent Road, on a Thursday evening approximately 9pm (with an hour left before closing) - my friend ordered the chicken and shrimp special on that front of the menu and I ordered a 1/4 chicken and baked potato. The server returned with our drinks and then again, a few minutes later to report there were no shrimp left. So, my friend placed an alternative order of chicken and ribs. The server took that order back to the kitchen and returned to our table with news that they were out of baked potatoes. As a replacement, I chose the rice. Then the server returned to explain there were actually no ribs left and they were, in fact, out of rice. Not sure who is responsible for stock at this store but ribs and potatoes are main menu items and it's not difficult to see when options are low and need to be replenished. Plus, some people go to Swiss Chalet just for their ribs. The server was pleasant and apologetic and did presented us with a free appetizer card for our trouble, however, I wouldn't go back to this location because even though the server's are nice, there's clearly a food management issue at this location - there is no excuse for being out of shrimp, ribs, baked potatoes and rice all at the same time.
The restaurant was not busy on a Wednesday night. There was no hostess at her station when I, a party of one, arrived. I noticed a leaf of lettuce stuck to the floor near the hostess station while I was waiting. The floor looked dirty. I walked toward the kitchen area and asked if the dining room was closed. I was told by the hostess that it was open but she hadn't seen me on the security camera because I was standing in the wrong place. I was seated at a table which looked clean and ordered a quarter chicken dinner and a small draft beer. The beer was delivered in a few minutes but it was merely cool, not cold. After two sips, I'd had enough. I waited and waited for the chicken. I stared at the dirty unswept floor. The waitress didn't come back. It seemed that no one cared and that no one was in charge. Perhaps they were short staffed. I left a $10 bill under the beer glass and walked out. Never again.
