The Pies are wonderful but our favourite is the cottage pie. went on Friday this week at tea time had our usual cottage...pie, smashing !!!! missed Carl the last two visits seam to be colliding with his day off !!! never mind the young uns kept us happy !!!!good work Paul Sue
Great service and the food was fantastic. Really good quality ingredients, generous and tasty. Loved the in pie and the cottage pie was also excellent
Very disappointed with the pies very dry on the steak and kidney as no gravy inside filling and not sure where to start on the pastry, it was like eating flour and fell apart just made so much mess like you were going to role...out on a flour service. I would not recommend this and when spoke to staff they just said sorry.
Came for the “famous” two in one pies. We arrived a little early and asked if we could have a drink before our meal and the landlord told us in no uncertain terms that we could not. We were not made to feel very welcome...as a result!! Luckily one of the waiting staff said our table was ready so we were able to sit down. Food was ok-ish. I’d say we were disappointed with the pies and found the pastry a little odd (it is VERY short and claggy in the mouth) but that is just our taste. My fish pie was three quarters broccoli. One of the toilet doors doesn’t lock properly beware! and the toilet floor wasn’t very clean. The waiting staff were very good and the price was reasonable. I wouldn’t hurry back due to the not-very-warm welcome and average food, but again, just my opinion. Had we been met with a cheery disposition, we might have stayed longer. As it was we had finished in an hour and headed elsewhere for the rest of the evening.
Looked forward to going with my son heard great things Disappointed with an hours wait then a very basic pie Will not be going again
