Restaurant bewertenThe mix of classic British decor and fresh Indian food made for a great combination. Incredibly warm service and generous portions.
After many renovations over the winter, the East India Company has been re-launched as Ibbys East India Company with new management, chefs and staff.
The meal was fabulous fresh and so moorish! Best curry we have had in a very long time. The only thing that lets this place down is some of the staff they really don't want to be there, don't want to be serving you and as a result you feel uncomfortable. The manager, however, was very welcoming and informative.
The food here was reasonably priced and reasonably tasty (though the lamb was tough), but the service was slow and unenthusiastic.
I have been going to this place for over 10 years now at an increasingly infrequent rate. It started out as my favourite in Stirling but the quality of the food has been doing downhill for years. It is rarely filled these days. I think it is in a spiral of decline. The last straw was the last time we were there in September 2010. The food was mediocre and the fruit garnish on my daughter's dessert was rotting. The dish was returned and we were not charged for it. However, what does it tell you about a restaurant that doesn't notice it is putting green, rotting fruit on top of ice cream? It is a very sad case indeed.
