Restaurant bewertenWe arrived in the mid-afternoon on a Sunday, hungry and thirsty after a long drive. We spotted the Sun Inn just around the corner from where we were staying. It turned out to be a great little gem, although the menu was limited at that time of day, the food was excellent. The beer and cider we ordered were very welcome and refreshing. The atmosphere was relaxed and surprisingly quiet. The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.
This pub is excellent, but in my opinion, the toilets are terrible. If the toilets are not well-maintained, it makes me question the cleanliness of the entire establishment. I would only consider coming here for drinks, but never for a meal.
As a regular visitor at the Sun, recent improvements have been welcomed by many New menu is great. Staff have a smile on face and help create a comfortable atmosphere to socialise in. Can’t fault the food, beer or service. Busy at times but that is understandable. 10/10. Chapeau to management and staff!
Four friends went to dinner on January 19th. It took 30 minutes to find a crumpled menu, and there were no vegetarian options available. The menu had limited choices, and it took 20 minutes to receive our food. We had to send the food back because the fries we were served appeared to have skin on them and were cold. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
I have had the pleasure of meeting a few friends in this establishment recently and have been treated well on these occasions, unfortunately this time I was treated terribly by the management.I had just entered this pub to meet up with some ex work colleagues, I was greeted by a nice friendly polite bartender and was served a pint of Cider, I had been served with a pint of cider, I was aggressively approached by the manager who proceeded to tell me loudly in front of a large crowd of fellow customers that I was barred for some reason relating to a beer Festival held in this pub, which I did not attend due to having a broken Neck which required extensive cervical spinal surgery which has left me partially paralysed, mainly down my left side. I had my dog with me, who is a registered therapy dog. The landlord would not explain to me the reason or situation that has resulted in myself and my therapy dog to be barred. I was rudely and Aggressively told that the landlord recognised my dog and that I was barred previously for something that happened during this beer Festival, as the biannual beer festivals are held in may and August I was shocked to have this quoted to me as the reason for myself being barred, as I was in no physical position to attend these beer festivals due to recovering from said serious spinal surgery. The barmaid was loudly instructed to take my pint away and to return my money, which was taken by the manager and tossed back in my face, which with difficulty I had to retrieve from the floor in front of me. I am absolutely disgusted with the way I have been treated by the manager of this establishment, I am a 6”2’ tall 18 stone, alternative looking man with 17 piercings in my face with a unique thick black beard, and wouldn’t describe myself as easily mistaken for someone else, hence my surprise at being treated so undignified by the manager, whilst politely asking to have an explanation as to this treatment when during the past month have had two enjoyable evenings in this establishment. I am clearly disabled I limp badly and have great difficulty using my left hand side, I wonder if I would of been treated to such an undignified display in front of a busy pub had I chosen to attend in my wheelchair which I frequently need to use due to said spinal damage? I am totally Disgusted with this treatment of a clearly disabled person when I have no comprehension as to why I was treated this way, I fully intend to take this higher and am shocked as to the reason for this treatment and hope that I am the only person who has been subjected to this kind of attitude towards someone clearly disabled. I shall not be returning to this establishment again and Strongly recommend anyone who has a visible physical disability not to attend this establishment either.
