The Merchant Ale House - St. Catharines

On the first look I saw nothing that was vegan, but after the waitress, she gladly let me know all my options. there are fried pommes, sweet potatoes. the Mayo dips are vegan. there are vegan nachos, a fried tomato dish, a philly style sandwich with cut sideways, and tacos that can be made with sideways.

The beer is delicious here. we have not so philly cheesesteak and shared it and it was a lot of food for two people. my friend liked the cheese sauce more than me, but it was still good. it seemed like the kind of carrot and kartoffel in contrast to the art that is very artificial.

I was a couple of times in the shop for drinks, before or after dinner elsewhere, and always enjoyed it. Typically has not tried their food because the menu is quite meaty and the vegan options are limited and not very attractive for me. last time I was there, I tried to get her “drug mushroom” sandwich and “vegan wings” but these weren’t very nice, so I would still recommend going elsewhere in the opposite for vegan foods. the vegan nachos are quite beautiful and go well with their excellent beer.

They now have the beyond burger here! also with vegan cheese as option.

Needed a late night meal and found this place. Lively pub with vegan options. Hubs and I split the veggieball sandwich. Really, really good. Both texture and flavor. Updated from previous review on 2018-06-29
