Restaurant bewertenNow, if I had a restaurant, I wouldn't allow my patrons to walk into my production area. Also, I wouldn't have the entrance near a production area. If I'm not mistaken, wouldn't dust fly in from outside and land on the finished tortillas and as well, dirt get kicked up from the floor mats? Hmmm....anyway, the "restaurant" doesn't have a washroom or heat so dress warmly and make sure everyone goes before they leave the house. Chips are good but lacked a bit of salt. Salsa was watery and lacked salt as well. Guacamole was okay but once again, lacked salt. Then the tacos came...finally. You'd think that being only one table, it would have not taken over 15 minutes to make tacos. And to boot, half of them were cold. I guess the microwave that we heard wasn't working too well. But wait, they didn't lack salt! I think they knew they didn't add salt to the previous food, so they added it all to the tacos. My family was shivering every time they swallowed. They were so salty. I think out of the 3 meats I tried, the beef was definitely the best. Maybe because it was the last one out of the microwave. I'm sorry Holy Guacamole but I think you should stick to making tortillas and not focus on building a restaurant.
For years we have been travelling over the river to buy our corn tortillas as the ones available in Canada are simply terrible. What a surprise! For $2.50 you get a large bag ( 24 plus? ) of fresh homemade tortillas. We have used them in 3 of our favourite recipes and they are delicious!! Much better than all the others we have tried. We did not eat lunch as our mission was to buy and try the tortillas. The owner was extremely friendly and the place was very clean. We will probably plan to eat there on our next tortilla run. Good luck to the owners and welcome to Niagara. You have one repeat customer and wish you many more!
I visited Holy Guacamole on a whim to try and find someplace new. The place is clean, the food is incredible! Very well cooked, good quality chicken and beef, caring and attentive staff. I would very much recommend this place!!
We've been here a couple of times and the food is good. It is clearly a start-up, and some things are still in the process of refinement, but the place is headed in the right direction. In Mexico, tacos are sold one by one, and this can get expensive if one decides to fill up on tacos alone at Holy Guacamole. I would suggest they serve some sort of combo with rice and beans for the hungry public. Their beverages (Jamaica and horchata) were good but a little high priced. The building is not exciting, but , once again, I'd say give them a little time and they should be on their way to success. If true Mexican food is what is under consideration, this place has it, and it is very good.
This is a small family-run place and very easy to miss when driving by. They have a limited menu - tacos, tostadas, burritos, nacho chips - but the food is delicious, fresh, and authentic. They also sell packages of their tortilla wraps, chips, salsa, and guacamole. Definitely a must try when in the mood for spanish food.Note that they only accept cash.
