Rossmount Inn - St Andrews Parish

The Rossmount truly excels in both food and service. Quality and presentation are their top priorities. Each time we visit St. Andrews, we make it a point to dine here for dinner, and we are consistently impressed by the culinary masterpieces that come from the kitchen.

To start, we had an amuse-bouche which was a fantastic way to kick off the meal. Next, we tried the oyster shooters—fresh oysters with clamato juice. I'm usually not a fan of oyster shooters, but these were delicious! We also had a shrimp terrine, which was my first seafood terrine. It had amazing flavors. The scallop risotto was beautifully presented, and the striploin steak was a treat, as this cut isn't something we typically find in California. If we ever find ourselves back in the area, you can be sure we'll return!

The ambiance is unpretentious, but the food is outstanding. It's fresh, locally sourced, and creatively prepared. Locals suggested this restaurant, and it certainly lived up to their recommendations.

We heard that this place is a must-visit when you're in the area, and it's easy to understand why! The decor is lovely, the service is attentive, and the food is fresh, local, and packed with flavor. We stayed at the Algonquin Inn, which offered a complimentary shuttle service to the restaurant.

I truly enjoyed this meal! Although we only ate at the restaurant and didn't stay at the inn, the experience was fantastic. The heirloom tomato salad and the roasted spiced duck, accompanied by eggplant puree and roasted beets, were outstanding. The duck was cooked to perfection, and the eggplant and beets paired beautifully with it. The crispy spiced skin on the duck was incredibly tasty, and the meat was both tender and full of flavor. The tomatoes, although a common dish, were fresh and of high quality. It was genuinely one of the best meals I've ever had, and at $50 for both my starter and main course, it was quite reasonable. Unfortunately, I was too full for dessert, but I'm sure it would have been delicious. Everyone in my party of five enjoyed their meals as well, whether they had oysters, lamb, steak, or fish. If you're in the area and looking for a wonderful dining experience, I highly recommend Rossmount.
