Restaurant bewertenReal Jamaican food and great customer service all the time when you go to this food truck.
J chicken is good as is most sides. Really enjoy the rice and festival (kinda like hush puppies but with a twist). The amount of food is plenty and yeah try it out. I'm looking to try the wings out next
This food truck has moved to 5034 Farm to Market 2920, Spring, TX 77388, in front of the gas station. Stopped in the other day to try it out. I got the j leg and thigh, the Jamaican Surprise side, and a rum cake for dessert. The j chicken was absolutely delicious, a great tangy j sauce on tender dark meat. Nice big pieces too, felt like plenty of food. The Jamaican Surprise is a serving of fried doughballs. The menu compares them to hush puppies, but I'd say they are more like sourdough (mild) beignets. Some powdered sugar on them would make a great dessert. Crunchy outside, tender and chewy in the middle. The rum cake was a nice finish for the meal. It was quite dense with a lot of flavor, not too sweet. Home made and grandma's recipe, according to the proprietor. Worth a try.The menu is fascinating and makes me want to come back. The loaded fries sound very good, and I want to try the cabbage medley. This is the only Jamaican food in the area, so far as I know. Fortunately it represents well. The proprietor is fun to talk to and the food is a great introduction to Jamaican cuisine if you have not tried it before.
We ordered Jerk breast and wings, it was DELICIOUS! Best chicken we’ve had in a while. I was afraid it would be too spicy but it was perfect. Also got the plantains and the festivals, everything was so good! The rum cake was rich and delicious, and the food was a very good price with generous portions. The guy who owns it was very kind and funny, so service was excellent. And its family recipes! You really can’t go wrong, this made our Wednesday awesome. Will definitely be ordering again next time we see him. Excited to try the oxtails in the future (they were out tonight)
It pains me to write this but I was so excited to see another Jamaica spot on the north side but I was sadly disappointed. Unfortunately, this is not authentic Jamaican food. I ordered j wings with cabbage and rum cake just to support and try out the new place I found but this has to be illegal...lol...the j wings were not whole wings and a j sauce was used to create it. I have visited Jamaica many times and Im sad to say this was a disgrace. I've made j chicken from scratch and even used Walkerswood j seasoning and mine comes out 10x better than this. Mandeville and St. Ann would be embarrassed!!! Please stop claiming this to be Jamaican food or find someone to help you make it more authentic if you're not from there. The rum cake I was looking forward to needs work as well. If you're expecting authentic, this is not the place...Caribbean Hot Pot or a couple others are a little more authentic.
