Mckenzie Landing - Spooner

Our group of 10 arrived on motorcycles during the quiet period between lunch and dinner. The bartender checked with the cook to ensure they could accommodate us, and they did so without any issues. We enjoyed quick and tasty drinks while waiting, and our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Everyone in our group agreed that the food was delicious, particularly the burgers and fries, as well as the cheese curds and pretzel sticks we ordered as appetizers. The landing burger was especially outstanding! We believe it was worth the journey from Superior.

Additionally, I was surprised to see a service charge on my bill for using a debit card, as this fee was not mentioned on the menu or by my server. This policy is not common in other restaurants in the area, and it felt unnecessary to pass on credit card fees to customers. Overall, my experience at McKenzie's Landing was good, but this unexpected charge left a sour taste in my mouth.

I would not recommend ordering the smoked ribs. I had them tonight and they did not taste house-smoked; they seemed pre-made and packaged from a distributor. The service was excellent though, with a very friendly and courteous waitress. I was told that there are new owners now. I have been coming to this restaurant for over 30 years, but maybe I will just stick to coming here for the drinks from now on.

I am so glad we decided to stop here to eat during our vacation. Our waitress was excellent and on top of everything. The atmosphere was friendly and very welcoming. The food was as good as can be expected. Everything came out very quick and thesalad bar is an excellent touch! There is outdoor seating that offers a lake view as well. Very cool place and you can tell theowners truly care about hospitality. They even took a family photo for us facing the lake as well! Thank you for the greatexperience.

After being told the dining room was full and it was a thirty minute wait for seating we mentioned just going to another place, since my dad is a diabetic and couldn't wait that long for food. The lady said no there's a table in the bar it won't be anissue. So we went to that table. Ordered right away including soup and an appetizer. Nothing came out and I do mean nothing, nosoup, no appetizer. Drinks were never refilled. The waitress would just fly by and say I'll go shake up the kitchen. Finally Ihad enough after waiting well over a hour. And approached the waitress to tell her we want the bill for our drinks and we areleaving. She then magically found our food which was cold. To say the least we barely touched anything. Then to top it off shehovered over my father as he was signing the credit card slip to make sure he tipped her. I will never go back here and neverrecommend this place to anyone. Yes I understand everyone is short of help these days. But this was not the kitchens fault (asstated food was cold which means the waitress didn't go check on it the three times she said she would). When it comes down toit they risked my father's health with not even bringing out the appetizer or soup until everything else came out.
