Restaurant bewertenI was pleasantly surprised by the amount of options offered in this diner. it is so great that they have a vegan and vegetarian menu. I ordered the vain veggie omelette made with grilled tofu and a lot of fresh vegetables. I spent the extra money for the vegan cheese. with the addition of the domestic bratkartoffels and brot it was a great meal. I couldn't finish half of it. this is a good place to stop when they are in the opposite or on the way to atlantic city. update: I tried the Tu-no sandwich plate. it needed a little salt and pfeffer, but overall it is still a good option if they are looking for something without a side or a burger. updated by previous review on 2021-08-06
The Vegan Vegetarian Friendly Specials menu is all-vegan and has 17 interesting items to choose from. These aren 't side dishes, they 're full meals, and in New Jersey diner tradition, the portions are big enough to stuff yourself with just half of the main course and then box the rest for later consumption. They all come with a cup of the vegan soup du jour (and supposedly with a vegan muffin for dessert, but mine never came and I forgot to ask about it because I was already past my limit). I chose the power bowl, with stuffed grape leaves, avocado, tomatoes, cucumbers, Tu-No (faux tuna, which was tasty), chick peas, beets, grilled tofu, homemade Greek dressing, hummus, and pita. Delicious, fresh, nicely prepared, and as I 've already said, served in generous portions. The soup was a barley tomato concoction that also was tasty and satisfying. Excellent service. Rain-or-shine outdoor seating under a canopy.
The regular menu has an entire page dedicated to vegan options.
Perfectly placed for shore traffic, this diner made the bold (and smart) step to offer not just some vegan food, but a vegan menu. Featuring the Beyond Burger, locally-made seitan, bean dishes, and farm-to-table fresh produce, it 's a winner for the whole family. The gyro sandwich, tofu pasta primavera, and seitan marsala are all great. It 's a diner, though and lots on the vegan menu is in that mold meaning it 's comfort food and not really healthy: fried, processed stuff. Still, it 's a fine place to go as a destination, or on the way to the Pine Barrens or the Shore. And the whole damn family can eat there, no matter their nutritional or culinary desires.
