Restaurant bewertenDirected to this cafe by a local so glad we were! Outdoor seating with parasols which made the experience comfortable on this sunny day. Great coffee, food delicious cake all served by happy, friendly people. Oh joy!
We called here for a quick coffee but ended up being tempted by a delicious Somerset cream tea. the service was professional and adhering to all Covid 19 guidelines but still able to be friendly. the cream tea was great and much enjoyed. We definitely...recommend a visit to this lovely little café.
Sometimes we feel that we want to eat a bit easier instead of constantly deciding to find more elaborate food and eat. today we wanted a late lunch of simple, but good, good, good. we visited the magnificent montacute house, deep in the south. part of somerset, surrounded by the mendip and blackdown and quantumock hills and the Dorset-Downs. our visit to the montacute house was enjoyed, but was a shorter stay than we really needed. we promised to visit again a lot longer. After visiting montacute house we drove over 4 miles to this small caffe and gift shop (part of hurst works) to have a snack lunch. at the arrival we were asked to put ourselves on an unoccupied table and order for food and drink at the food counter. my partner wanted the risotto, but I made a mistake and ordered a “Goat’s cheese salad” with a pear and walnut salad that was served with good chalk bread! I was forgiven for my mistake, as the plate was very good and very enjoyed. I ordered the “Ham, egg and chips”: that was a good part of mild metzgerschinken, two well cooked fried eggs and a modicum of good dry chips. both meals were excellent and freshly cooked on hot plates. my vultures were a tough, but still partly runny (I prefer to run joks). the ham was glorious and I wish it to enjoy more, but under £9 it was a great worth for what I had (but I am a little greedy when it has great food). we have decided not to have desserts or cakes and simply enjoyed the rest of a wonderful cup of leaf-made tea that was really strong (just as we prefer). the whole bill was just over £22. service was friendly and helpful and safe for a late lunch there were still many customers enjoying their food too.
She wanted to see the art and the crafts. and sawmills etc. had a snack in caffe in front of place. it was the best hot chocolate. I.d has been having long since. the cakes were fresh and light. I had the coffee and walnut. my man. had the baked cake that was amazing that the taste was divine. good quality
Visited as a party of four with the intention to each a creamtee. we were not disappointed by the food quality, two obscenes each clear house baked with the usual cream and jam plus a pot tee. the scones were fresh and. tasty like cream and jam. tee also very good of the leaf type. friendly staff helped us all make a very pleasant experience.
